Affiliate disclosure
Couptic is reader supported. When you use an offer on this site and go on to buy something, the retailer sometimes pays us a commission. This page explains how that works and what it does not affect.
What an affiliate link is
Retailers run partner programmes through affiliate networks. A link that carries our identifier tells the network that a visit came from us, and if a purchase follows within the retailer’s tracking window, the retailer pays a share of the sale. The offers themselves come from those same networks, which is why our listings and our commercial relationships share a source.
What it costs you
Nothing. The price at checkout is the same whether you arrive through a link on this site, through a search engine, or by typing the retailer’s address yourself. A commission is paid by the retailer out of the sale, not added to it.
What it does not change
Commission has no effect on the order of offers on a page. Offers are sorted by the same formula everywhere on the site, and that formula does not know whether a retailer pays us.
It also has no effect on which retailers appear. A large share of the stores we track have no partner programme with us and earn us nothing. We list them because a tracker that only covers paying retailers is an advertising directory wearing the clothes of a record.
We do not sell placement, we do not accept payment for coverage, and we do not take a store down because it asked us to.
Where you will see this disclosed
A line at the top of every page says the site is reader supported, and it links here. We put it above the content rather than at the foot of the page because a disclosure a reader has to hunt for is not really a disclosure.
Links that carry no commission
Where a retailer has no programme with us, the button takes you to the store without any partner identifier. Nothing on the page marks the difference, because the difference should not change what we tell you about an offer.
